Scottish Government start review of strategic development plans

The Scottish Government has started a research project to review the process and content of the strategic development plans for Scotland's four largest city-regions. The research is being carried out by Kevin Murray Associates and The University of Glasgow over the next few months.

The research is focused on reviewing whether the arrangements and processes for the SDPs are fit for purpose, following their introduction through the Planning etc (Scotland) Act 2006.

The research team are aiming to gather the experiences of those who have been involved in order to identity at first hand whether the arrangements and processes are fit for purpose - a key part of this is seeking responses to a questionnaire.

The four SDPAs themselves are not part of the research team but have agreed to facilitate the project by making a link to the questionnaire available on their websites. However, the questionnaire has not been seen by the SDPAs and they will not have access to the responses to it.

Responses to the questionnaire are required by 12 noon on 6 December 2013. A summary sheet is available here to provide additional information and details of how to contact the research team.
