Main Issues Report: Two weeks left to give us your views

Consultation on the Aberdeen City and Shire Strategic Development Plan Main Issues Report closes on 6 January 2012, with just two weeks left for people to give us their views.

Around 700 copies of the Main Issues Report have been distributed since the start of consultation and over 1,200 people have accessed the SDPA website during this period.

The Main Issues Report builds on the Aberdeen City and Shire Structure Plan (2009) and identifies two major influences to guide any changes required - supporting development in challenging economic times and the response to the challenges and opportunities of climate change.

The report includes sections on 'sustainable economic growth', 'supporting development' and 'managing resources efficiently' as well as suggesting four new proposals for inclusion in the plan - carbon capture and storage, electricity transmission infrastructure, the National Renewables Infrastructure Plan and a range of strategic transport interventions.

The consultation started on 7 October 2011 and more information (including a range of background reports, a list of the 34 consultation questions and an audio version of the Main Issues Report itself) is available on our Consultation Now Open: Proposed Strategic Development Plan and Associated Documents page.

Responses have been coming in since the start of December, although it is anticipated that most will be submitted in the last few weeks.

You can send us your views by using the Online Response Form or by email, in writing or by fax to the address above.
