Development Plan Scheme Published

The Aberdeen City and Shire Strategic Development Planning Authority (SDPA) has submitted a Development Plan Scheme 2011/12 to Scottish Ministers. The development plan scheme was agreed by the SDPA on 25 March 2011.

The development plan scheme sets out the process and anticipated timescales for preparing and reviewing the strategic development plan and what is likely to be involved at each stage. The timetable has been amended since the previous development plan scheme, with publication of the main issues report now due in September 2011 and the proposed strategic development plan in September 2012. These changes were necessary due mainly to the timing of local government elections in May 2012. The full report on the development plan scheme can be found here.

This development plan scheme only covers the strategic part of the development plan.  Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Councils published their own development plan schemes in relation to the preparation of local development plans and more information on these can be obtained directly from both councils.

Additional information and previous Aberdeen City and Shire development plan schemes are available from our Development Plan Schemes web page.
