Proposed Aberdeen City & Shire Strategic Development Plan - August 2018

On 24 August 2018 the Strategic Development Planning Authority agreed the Proposed Aberdeen City and Shire Strategic Development Plan and a number of associated supporting documents as the SDPA's settled view of the recommended final content of the next Strategic Development Plan for the City Region. The Proposed Strategic Development Plan covers a number of key issues which will help to shape this City Region over the coming years. These include: the spatial strategy, the level of housing and employment land required, and regional and national infrastructure projects.

A number of minor amendments to the Proposed Plan were agreed by the SDPA at this meeting and a 'Post Committee' version of the document is available below, alongside all the other associated supporting documents that were agreed at this meeting.

The Proposed Plan and associated supporting documents were presented to both Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council for their ratification. The decision of the SDPA to agree the Proposed Plan and associated supporting documents was ratified by Aberdeen City Council at the Full Council meeting on 10 September 2018, and by Aberdeenshire Council at the Full Council meeting on the 27 September 2018.

The Proposed Strategic Development Plan is supported by a Proposed Action Programme, a Habitats Regulation Appraisal, a Strategic Flood Risk Assessment, a Cumulative Transport Appraisal, A Housing Methodology Paper and an Equalities and Human Rights Impact Assessment. A Strategic Environmental Assessment Environmental Report has also been published which identifies, describes and evaluates the likely significant effects the Proposed Plan could have on the environment.

A statutory period of representation will take place from the 8th October - 17th December 2018. Please note that, unfortunately, no late submissions can be accepted.

The Proposed Plan and all associated supporting documents are available to view below. The documents are also available to view free of charge during normal opening hours:
